IMPORTANT NOTE: The passenger side mount REQUIRES removal of the rear heater core that resides under the passenger seat. This was developed knowing that removal of the rear heater core was common enough to move forward on the design. Having usable storage means not having the rear heater core take up that usable space. If you are still using the rear heater core then please use the standard universal mount option.
80 Series scheel-mann mount is almost here.
If you’ve been thinking about putting scheel-mann seats in your 80, hold off for a few more weeks. This is nearly ready to ship.
And if you’re already running scheel-mann seats in your 80, this could be interesting for you.
Most setups today use a universal flat plate. It works, but you give up a few things:
• some seat stability
• the space under the seat
• and the factory-style seat belt movement
This mount is designed to fix that.
You get a more rigid, purpose-built structure, a seat belt mount that travels with the seat like OEM, and usable storage space built into the design. On an 80 Series, that actually matters.
We’ve taken what we’ve already developed for Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, and 4Runner, and brought it to the 80.
We’re also considering a +1.25" “command height” version for those who want that higher seating position, and this is exactly the kind of thing we want input on before we lock it in.
