Pricing & Mount Options
Q: Am I looking at $900 for a set of seat mounts?
A: Well, yes -- technically $450 each. The only other option on the market is a stationary bracket at roughly half the price per side. You can live with a stationary seatbelt mount, but we definitely do not recommend it. Our bracket is boxed and welded and will not move under severe use, including off-road. We also designed it to take advantage of the under-seat space by integrating storage -- something the stationary alternative cannot offer.
Keep in mind that regardless of your mount choice, you still need to add the cost of sliders per side.

Q: Can't I just use a less expensive bracket from another manufacturer?
A: You can. But you will not get a seatbelt mount that moves with the seat, you will not get a rigid welded mount that holds position no matter the situation, and you will not have access to under-seat storage. You also will not get the 80 Series power harness that is included with our kit.

Q: When will my brackets ship?

Q: Can you confirm that the bottom of the Vario XXL lifts up for under-seat storage access?
A: Yes. The cushion base lifts to reveal the storage compartment -- no locking mechanism to disengage first. The following article covers the full detail. It references a different mount platform, but all the seat-specific information is the same:

Q: Do I need to add the seatbelt extension harness separately?
A: Yes, and it is sold separately because not every 80 Series needs it. On some trucks, the in-seat wiring acted as the extension harness between the floor and the buckle. When the factory seat is removed, that middle section of harness goes with it. Our cable bridges that gap. Whether your truck needs it depends on how the original seat harness was routed -- if you are unsure, contact us before ordering.
Q: Is there no way to reliably integrate OEM Toyota switches (P/N 84751-60020 and 84751-6001) using your harness?
A: The short answer is not reliably, which is why we committed early to the scheel-mann switch approach. Some 80 Series trucks may also require a kick panel relay, as not all came with one pre-installed from the factory. For that specific switching detail, Toyota Land Cruiser forums are the best resource, as the variation between trucks goes beyond what we can document for every configuration.
