Factory Integration
Q: Does this work with factory seat motors?
A: This solution supports the basic power delivery required for a functional heated scheel-mann driver seat. It does not replicate OEM motor control logic, memory systems, or advanced factory electronics.
Q: Does this keep my factory seat heater controls working?
A: Yes. This product is designed specifically to interface with the factory seat heater control module in a 2nd Gen Sequoia when used with a scheel-mann seat that includes the Tolerance Stack thermistor.
Q: Why is this only documented for 2017?
A: The configuration shown was validated on a 2017 2nd Gen Sequoia. Other years may differ electrically and require verification before purchase.
Purchasing & Compatibility
Q: Do I need to buy my scheel-mann seat from Tolerance Stack?
A: Yes, if you want factory seat heater integration. All scheel-mann seats sold by Tolerance Stack include the required thermistor installed by scheel-mann prior to shipment. Seats sourced elsewhere will not include this component.
No, if you plan to install the thermistor yourself. In that case the seat source does not matter, but the thermistor must still be present and correctly installed.
Q: Can I use this with older scheel-mann seats?
A: Possibly. Legacy scheel-mann seats may use an incompatible heater connector. In those cases, the Early-to-Late Adapter for scheel-mann Seat Heaters is required. This does not replace the thermistor requirement.
Q: Is this plug-and-play?
A: Sometimes, but not reliably. OEM connector availability is limited. If spare connectors are unavailable, you must supply your original seat connector pigtail as a core so it can be reused. Plug-and-play should be considered the exception, not the baseline.
Safety & Wiring
Q: Does this affect my seat belt, proximity sensor, or airbags?
A: No. The seat belt and its wiring remain factory and untouched. The driver proximity sensor is repurposed mechanically but is electrically unchanged. Airbag functionality requires a Type 1 airbag proxy, which is sold separately.
Tundra-Specific
Q: Do the newer Tundras support dual armrests?
A: On the XK50 Tundra, armrests will not fit due to the shape of the door panels and center console. The newest generation (XK70) has not been tested for armrest fit yet, so compatibility there is unconfirmed.
Q: Do the seat brackets fit access cab Tundras the same as regular cabs?
A: Yes. Brackets have been sold to customers with access cab Tundras with no reported bolt-hole alignment issues, despite some forum discussion suggesting access cabs need a different bolt pattern.
