Product Overview
This Tolerance Stack electrical integration solution is designed specifically for Toyota 2nd Gen Sequoia driver-side installations with factory powered and heated seats, using scheel-mann seating.
This product exists for customers who have already resolved seat fitment and mounting, but have stalled at the electrical stage and need a documented, vehicle-specific solution rather than continued trial-and-error.
The configuration shown and documented here was validated on a 2017 model year Sequoia.
What This Product Does
Interfaces scheel-mann seats with the 2nd Gen Sequoia factory powered and heated driver seat architecture
Bridges the factory floor wiring to the OEM seat heater control module
Connects the OEM seat heater control module to the scheel-mann seat heaters and Tolerance Stack thermistor
Provides a repeatable electrical solution based on a documented 2017 configuration
This product addresses seat heater and related electrical integration only. It does not alter seat belt systems, airbag systems, or mechanical seat mounting.
Vehicle Compatibility
Toyota 2nd Gen Sequoia
Model year validated: 2017
Driver seat only
Passenger side not currently supported
Other model years may differ and require verification prior to purchase.
Seat and Electronics Scope
This solution supports factory seat heater integration only.
It does not support:
Factory seat memory systems
OEM seat motor control logic beyond basic power delivery
Any advanced or proprietary Toyota seat electronics
This product is not intended to replicate full OEM seat functionality.
scheel-mann Seat Heater and Thermistor Requirement
All scheel-mann seats used with factory seat heater integration must be purchased from Tolerance Stack.
Tolerance Stack supplies a proprietary thermistor to scheel-mann
scheel-mann installs this thermistor at their warehouse prior to shipping the seat
This electrical integration assumes the presence of that thermistor
scheel-mann seats sourced outside of Tolerance Stack will not include the correct thermistor and will not function as intended without it.
If you are using scheel-mann seats not originally sold by Tolerance Stack:
The thermistor must be installed into the seat by the customer prior to use
Legacy scheel-mann Seat Heater Connector Note
Some older scheel-mann seats are equipped with legacy seat heater connectors that are incompatible with current Toyota and Tolerance Stack electrical solutions.
For those cases, Tolerance Stack offers a dedicated adapter:
Early-to-Late Adapter for scheel-mann Seat Heaters
This adapter does not replace the thermistor requirement and does not expand compatibility beyond documented configurations.
What’s Included
Electrical Assembly #1- Floor-side connection to the factory seat heater control module
Electrical Assembly #2- Connection from the factory seat heater control module to:
scheel-mann seat heaters
Tolerance Stack thermistor
Both assemblies together form the complete electrical integration shown in the documentation.
Systems That Remain Untouched
The following factory systems are not modified by this product and should be installed and connected as normal:
Seat belt and seat belt wiring- Remains fully factory and unchanged
Driver proximity sensor- Repurposed or remounted mechanically, but electrically unmodified
Airbag Proxy Note
The Type 1 airbag proxy required for this configuration is not included with this product and is available separately: Airbag Proxy Simulator – Type 1
Installation Notes
OEM connector reuse is required in many cases
Availability of spare OEM connectors is limited and inconsistent
If spare connectors are unavailable, the customer’s original connector pigtail must be supplied as a core
Any plug-and-play installation scenario depends entirely on connector availability and should be considered the exception, not the baseline.
Professional installation is recommended for anyone unfamiliar with automotive seat and restraint systems.
Important Notes
Applies to 2nd Gen Sequoia only
Driver seat only
Factory powered and heated seat configuration required
Thermistor compatibility is mandatory
Incorrect assumptions about supported electronics will result in incompatibility
