Keeping Factory Seat Heater Switches 

One of the wonderful things about going with scheel-mann’s Vario seats is the fact that they come heated and they include a wiring harness with switches that allow you to add heating to your vehicle. But what if you have a 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma with factory heat already and you wanted to keep your factory switches? Not an issue with the Tolerance STACK seat mount kit and optional heating wiring kit for factory installed heated seats. 

One of the features we knew we wanted to keep was factory switching and part of that was figuring out the logic in how Toyota accomplishes this. It’s not a simple batch of wires with an on/off switch. It’s actually a very intelligent method of calculating ambient vs occupants heating preference. Once we figured that out it was a matter of assembling the correct component together to match Toyota’s parameters. This was a fairly lengthy sleuthing issue. 

Today, we have a series of connector mounting plates made from chromoly for increased strength that we designed and produced to put the connectors where they needed to go, assemble with new wiring harnesses utilizing the exact same terminal pins and connectors that Toyota uses to guarantee fitment.

The result is a super clean, easy to install solution that keeps the guess work out of the user and installer. It’s as plug-n-play as we could possibly make it without losing any features you are accustomed to.
