Now with Built-In Seatbelt Connector Compatibility

Upgrading to scheel-mann seats in a 100 Series Land Cruiser or Lexus LX470 is one of the most impactful improvements you can make to your driving experience. But for years, one nagging issue stood in the way of a clean, functional install: what do you do with the factory seat heater switches and seat belt connectors? At Tolerance Stack, we’ve solved it.

Shown is the early 100 Series seat heater harness, with the seat belt connector, but modified to fit legacy scheel-mann seat heaters. Mid-2024 scheel-mann updated the connectors for the seat heaters.

The Problem: Seat Heater Switches and Broken Loops

Between 1998 and 2007, Toyota and Lexus offered seat heaters in the 100 Series Land Cruiser and LX470, but the electrical systems changed significantly halfway through the generation. Both early and late models used proprietary connectors for powering the heaters and signaling through the seatbelt buckle. Any aftermarket seats like scheel-mann lack the native wiring or internal sensors to plug and play, and most customers either gave up on heat functionality—or resorted to cutting and splicing their factory harness. That never sat right with us.

Our Solution: Plug-and-Play Harnesses, Built for Both Eras

We developed two custom harnesses, using OEM connectors, to address the differences between early (1998–2002) and late (2003–2007) 100 Series trucks. Each harness cleanly integrates your factory heater switch to your scheel-mann seat, while preserving the seatbelt buckle function without any cutting, soldering, or risk of triggering warning lights.

For 1998–2002 (Early Models):Early 100 Series / LX470 HarnessThis harness connects directly to the factory 2-stage seat heater switch, with a dedicated branch for the seatbelt buckle sensor. It allows you to retain the OEM heat switch and seamlessly integrates with scheel-mann’s heating elements:

For 2003–2007 (Late Models):Late 100 Series / LX470 HarnessThis version adapts the later Toyota-style plug and integrates seatbelt circuit continuity to prevent airbag or seatbelt warning lights. It’s designed for full compatibility with the updated dash switch wiring used in later models:

Why It Matters

Without this harness, installers have been forced to compromise—losing heat functionality, cutting into factory wiring, or living with persistent dash lights. We wanted better for our customers. These harnesses make the seat heater integration as seamless as the scheel-mann install itself. No guesswork. No splicing. No errors.

Seatbelt Connectors: Now Included

One of the most requested additions from our early customers was a clean solution for the seatbelt buckle. Many LX470 and Land Cruiser owners needed to retain their factory buckle to satisfy the airbag system and avoid "airbag off" or seatbelt warning lights. We now include the necessary connector branch directly in both harness variants, pre-wired and protected for durability. No more zip ties or aftermarket hacks to trick the system.

Installation is a Snap

Plug one end into your OEM seat heater switch connector, the other into your scheel-mann seat heating pads, and attach the seatbelt plug to your original buckle. That’s it. It’s the kind of installation you can do while sipping coffee, not swearing under your breath.

From the Field

Take a look at our first 100 series customer installation (pictured below). You can see how our harness integrates into a factory-style setup without an issue using the latest scheel-mann seat heater connectors. But what we didn't know at the time was that the seat belt connector went thru that same main floor connector.

Although this customer figured out a work around, all 100 series seat heater harnesses from Tolerance Stack now come with the seat heater connector pre-wired. All using OEM connectors.
