3D Printed Stand-Off Adapter
Overview
This 3D-printed spacer is designed for circular panel-mount sockets, chargers, and accessory ports that use the common Blue Sea–style mounting geometry. It provides a controlled way to space the socket body outward from the mounting surface when a fully flush installation is unnecessary or impractical.
In many real-world installations, wiring depth, connector bend radius, or rear-side clearance constraints make a flush mount difficult or impossible. This spacer solves that problem by shifting the socket forward while maintaining proper alignment, retention, and locking engagement.
Why This Exists
Not every installation benefits from a flush-mounted port.
Common use cases include:
Limited wiring clearance behind panels
Heavy-gauge wiring or molded connectors that cannot bend sharply
Installations through thick panels, brackets, or powder-coated steel
Retrofit scenarios with restricted rear access
By spacing the socket outward, wiring can be routed naturally without strain, interference, or forced bends.
Key Features
Designed for panel-mount sockets and chargers using Blue Sea–style circular mounting geometry
Preserves socket orientation and locking function
Allows the socket body to sit proud of the mounting surface for additional rear clearance
Clean, intentional appearance once installed
Lightweight, durable, and dimensionally consistent
Installation Notes
Installs between the socket flange and the mounting surface
Compatible with standard locking rings and protective caps used on this style of socket
No modification to the socket or panel required
Spacer thickness is fixed to maintain proper thread engagement
Digital File Option
* charger/plug port not included
